How fast can Spedra work?

Spedra contains avanafil, a prescription PDE5 inhibitor for erectile dysfunction in adult men. EMA information describes taking the usual 100 mg dose approximately 15 to 30 minutes before sexual activity. This is product-label timing, not a guarantee of an erection within that interval.

Sexual stimulation is needed. Food can delay onset, and dose-specific instructions matter. The 50 mg product should not automatically be given the same minimum timing as a higher dose.

How avanafil helps

Avanafil supports the blood-flow response involved in an erection. It does not create sexual desire, diagnose the cause of erectile difficulties or guarantee a successful response.

If treatment does not help, discuss how it was taken, side effects and the underlying problem with the prescriber. Do not repeat a dose early, increase it yourself or combine it with another ED medicine.

Comparing timing, food effects and cost

Product-label timing cannot predict the response of every patient or establish which ED medicine will work best for you. Food effects, duration, formulation and interactions are useful points to discuss with the clinician.

Local price, generic supply and availability can change and should be checked with a licensed pharmacy. A higher price does not guarantee a faster or better response.

A useful comparison asks which timing and treatment pattern fits your circumstances and which medicine is suitable after a safety assessment.

Interactions and suitability

Do not take avanafil with nitrates used for chest pain. The combination can cause a dangerous blood-pressure fall. Product information also restricts combinations with certain other medicines, including riociguat and strong CYP3A4 inhibitors.

Tell the clinician about heart disease, blood pressure, recent stroke or heart attack, kidney or liver problems, serious eye conditions and all medicines or supplements. Suitability for sexual activity itself may need assessment.

The restrictions in the local product information are more complete than a short guide. Do not assume a newer medicine has fewer clinically important risks.

Side effects and urgent symptoms

Headache, flushing and nasal congestion can occur. Seek urgent medical help for an erection lasting more than four hours or sudden loss of vision or hearing. Chest pain, collapse or a severe allergic reaction requires emergency care.

If chest pain occurs, tell emergency responders when avanafil was taken and do not take a nitrate yourself.

Persistent or new erectile difficulties should be assessed rather than repeatedly changing brands. Any prescription remains an independent clinical decision, with no promise of supply or outcome.
